Catarina Owen has a Bachelor of Science from the University of Florida and a Master of Science from the University of Alberta.
She joined the dynamic SRRB staff team in 2012. Over time her role has evolved from Environmental Assessment to Communications and Policy Analyst. Catarina is proud to be involved in a digital literacy project which will have a positive impact on the life of many northerners.
The Sahtú Renewable Resources Board (SRRB), or Ɂehdzo Got'ı̨nę Gots'ę́ Nákedı, is the wildlife and wildlife habitat co-management board established by the Sahtú Dene and Métis Comprehensive Land Claim Agreement. The SRRB is the main instrument of wildlife management in the Sahtú region and acts in the public interest. The SRRB’s objectives are to conserve and protect wildlife and wildlife habitat and to protect the rights of Sahtú Dene and Métis to harvest wildlife and actively participate in wildlife decision-making.
The SRRB believes the Digital NWT program will enhance our Guardians of the Land digital literacy skills. The Guardians will use the newly acquired skills to report and record changes they observe on the land.
